Project Overview
The design is at the 65% completion stage for the Spruce Street Extension/Upgrade project from East Dowling Road to East 68th Avenue.
The scope of this project is to extend Spruce Street from East Dowling Road to East 64th Avenue and upgrade the existing stretch of Spruce Street between East 64th and East 68th Avenues.
Project Goals
- Provide collector street to link residential streets to arterial streets
- Reduce through traffic on neighborhood streets
- Increase connectivity within the road network
- Improve response times for emergency vehicles
- Improve pedestrian facilities
- Provide traffic calming
Modifications to the existing street will include upgrade of the existing storm drainage system, reconstruction of the roadway, upgrades to pedestrian facilities, street lighting, and landscape enhancements within the corridor.
